Your insurance agent or broker can submit an application on your behalf after a diligent search has been made to obtain coverage in the voluntary insurance market.  Any licensed insurance agent/broker can assist you in obtaining coverage from the FAIR Plan at no additional charge.

If you are unable to find an insurance representative in your area to assist you, contact the IBA West at IBAWest.com for a listing of several independent insurance agents/brokers in your area. FAIR Plan staff can not recommend or make specific broker referrals to applicants.

We strongly encourage you to make a diligent search for a broker in your community by utilizing relatives, friends, business or social contacts as possible referral sources. Your broker can assist you in determining adequate coverage amounts; assist you in obtaining the other types of coverages you may need; assist you in making any changes to your policy; and assist you in reporting a claim to the company.

You can obtain an applicant’s kit from us if you have been unable to obtain an insurance broker through the aforementioned methods. An Applicant's Kit can be obtained by contacting the FAIR Plan at (800) 339-4099 or (213) 487-0111.

The insurance application CFP-1B for Dwellings, CFP-1C for Commercial, or BCP-01 for Businessowners must be completed in its entirety , and be signed by either the applicant or their insurance representative in order to obtain a quotation. The application can be faxed to (213) 252-8084 or emailed to cfpuw@cfpnet.com.
